If you don’t already know yet, Cobh Tourism has a new website and to celebrate its launch, it is having a competition and giving away an incredible summer break in Cobh for one lucky family. The lovely town of Cobh, famous for being the last port of call of the Titanic, is a charming seaside town in County Cork, South of Ireland.
When they say the prizes are incredible, you just have to see to believe the line-up of accomodation, family passes and gifts that await the winner of this contest. Starting with a three night stay in a double room suite at the Commodore Hotel, the winning family would be lodged in the center of town and very close to the waterfront.
One of the many family-pass attractions, an entry into the Cobh Heritage Centre would be a proper introduction to the rich maritime and local history of Cobh. It’s a good place to also learn about the Titanic, Spike Island and other historical events in Cobh.
Titanic Trail pass would take you to a fascinating walk to the places that the Titanic passengers had frequented or had associated to before they boarded the fateful ship in 1912. Check out the century old preserved “Titanic Trail” buildings that are still standing today.
Past the rock bridge and just outside the border of Cobh, Fota Wildlife Zoo is one of the most visited spots not just in Cork but also of the whole Ireland. It’s semi-safari style setting would let you see zebras, giraffes, and other non-predatory animals in the same acres of land cohabitating.
It’s worth noting, a Spike Island tour including boat ride (see title picture) is also part of the family pass prizes. Spike Island was once a monastery, prison and fort, among many things, and is also a popular attractions in Cork.
To complete the prizes, there’s also a pass for Cork Harbour self-riding boat, lunch at SeaSalt Cobh and a gift hamper from Great Island Creative Gifts.
