Cruise Cobh Ireland

Start of Cruise Season at Cobh Ireland

Posted on May 24, 2022May 24, 2022 by Jay

If you haven’t already heard, Cobh Ireland is back to welcoming the cruise ships on their shores. The first one arrived mid April 2022 and many more are coming up to mid October 2022. By the end of the cruise season, there would be about 90 plus cruises that would dock on Cobh and thousands of passengers would have walked on our Town Centre.

On a clear day, one would see the ship emerging from the distance. If it’s foggy in Cobh, there’s almost a ghostly effect when it suddenly shows up at Cork Harbour waters.

The Town Centre of Cobh is literally a few steps away from the docking area. Enjoy the waterfront vibe and the history of our charming town. Don’t forget to check out the Titanic Experience Museum (lower right building on photo above) and also The Heartbreak Pier, not shown on picture but it can be seen from John F Kennedy Park, which is next to the museum.

Getting this close to the cruise ship is an amazing experience. It is a fascinating spectacle watching it turn and park next to the Cobh Cruise Terminal. There’s a nice friendly atmosphere among locals too when they welcome and send off the ship and the passengers.

There are many places to view this magnificent ship. Because Cobh is a hilly island, the vista point from high up offers an impressive view. The photo above was taken on Lake Road. Where is your favorite?
