Not everyone can say the starting point of a travel blog is the pandemic. When almost every place that gather crowd is close and far, one just have to rely on what is near, accessible and grand. This three tick the proximity to where i live.
We moved to the Great Island of Cobh in early 2021. During that time, the whole of Ireland was on a 5 kilometer travel restriction. Non essential businesses were shut and tourism in Cobh was dead. It was a pure moment in time to enjoy the wonders of Cobh as a local.
Thus begin the germ and idea for “a walk in Cobh”. I mean, literally, you can walk to these sites and be a tourist for an hour or two in your hometown.
If this is your first time on this blog, you must be asking what makes Cobh so special? Perhaps this 2019 article from Condé Nast can charm your imagination.
There are many more reassuring answers i can tell you why you should visit Cobh at any available chance. But the fortunate truth is i want you to experience how lucky you are if you are ever to set foot in Cobh, just as i am lucky enough to live here.
I initally call this a travel blog, but it is really more than that. Please explore my lyrical tribute to this beautiful place i call home.
